Private Universities
There are 13 private universities in Kenya registered by the Commission for Higher Education. However, only four: Catholic University; Daystar University, University of Eastern Africa - Baraton,and USIU have received charters, and their degrees are recognised both locally and internationally. All, except United States International University, are church sponsored. (1996)
